Sign Language Classes

posted: 2010-01-21

Sign Language Classes
January - April 2010

Access UVic offers weekly instruction in American Sign Language at the Access Centre at the University of Victoria.

For four years Deaf instructor Elizabeth Syring has taught a popular beginners class, using an innovative Deaf immersion approach. She also offers intermediate and advanced ASL.

Access ASL classes organize language around the kind of communications that are most useful in everyday interactions. These courses also encourage students to learn about and respect Deaf culture. Classes are open to members of the community as well as to all UVic students.
